Outlaws Fall Short in Salina, Eye Critical Home Stretch Ahead

Billings Drops to 3-6 After 60-41 Loss, With Two Key Home Games on the Horizon


The Billings Outlaws took the field in Salina, Kansas on Saturday, May 24th, looking for redemption against the Salina Liberty, but ultimately fell short in a tough 60-41 loss.

Having narrowly lost to Salina at home back on April 25th (43-37), the Outlaws entered this game fueled by recent roster changes and the hope of evening the series. Despite a determined effort and some big-time individual performances, the Liberty came out on top once again.


Arthur Anderson got the scoring started for the Outlaws with a touchdown early in the game. Darius Prince followed up with a thrilling kick return TD, then added another receiving touchdown and a 2-point conversion to keep the offense rolling. Anderson added a second touchdown later in the game, showing strong consistency.

A highlight of the night was the return of fullback Hunter Swoboda, who rejoined the Outlaws for the first time since last year’s championship run. He made an immediate impact with a touchdown passQuarterback Malik Henry punched in a 2-point conversion, and defensive back Dwayne Hollis brought some energy to the defensive unit with a pick-six for a touchdown.


With the loss, Billings drops to 3-6 on the season, now sitting 7th in the league standings. Only the top 4 teams make the playoffs, and with just three regular season games remaining, the Outlaws will need to capitalize on every remaining opportunity.


Fortunately, two of those three games are coming at home, where the team will look to regroup and make a final playoff push in front of their home crowd.
