Outlaws Fall in Dodge City, Set Eyes on Second-Half Surge
Billings Drops Road Game to Southwest Kansas Storm, Prepares for Home Bounce-Back vs. Washington
The Billings Outlaws came up short on the road Saturday night, falling 49-31 to the Southwest Kansas Storm in Dodge City on May 3rd.
Despite flashes of explosive play and a few standout performances, the Outlaws couldn’t find enough rhythm to keep pace — the result of a tough matchup made tougher by several new roster changes leading into the game.
Wide receiver Jamaar Moore (#8) led the scoring effort with 2 touchdowns, showing chemistry and burst in key moments. Tyrone Sampson Jr. (#28) and Darius Prince (#6) also found the end zone, with Prince recording his first TD in an Outlaws uniform.
Special teams saw a spark from Dean Faithfull (#2), who nailed another deuce to help shift momentum early — but the Storm managed to stay in control as the game progressed.
The loss drops the Outlaws to the halfway mark of the regular season with a 2-4 record. After six games, the focus now shifts to building team chemistry, especially with recent signings and lineup adjustments still settling in.
“We’ve had some big changes and limited time to get everyone aligned,” said Head Coach Cedric Walker. “Now it’s about locking in as a unit and making our second half count.”
The bounce-back opportunity comes this weekend as Billings returns home to face the Washington Wolfpack.
With six regular season games left, the path to the playoffs is still wide open — and it starts with a strong showing this Saturday night in front of the home crowd.
